We partner with a wide variety of clients to provide mass grading, underground wet and dry utilities, excavation, and backfill services for residential and industrial construction projects in Iowa and Eastern Nebraska.
Position Description:
At McAninch Corporation, our IT Support Specialist provides technical support and maintains technology systems in our office, shop, and in the field. This role is responsible for Tier 1 support for desktops, laptops, mobile devises, and other office equipment. The ideal candidate will have some experience with Windows workstations, Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint management, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional customer service are essential. This position is not eligible for telework. Typical office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm. This position requires a valid driver's license and involves some travel to Eastern Iowa and Omaha (typically day trips, less than 10%).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day technical support for desktops, laptops, Microsoft Surfaces, tablets, mobile phones, printers, and related equipment. Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows workstations and mobile devices. Assist employees with technical issues and operational support requests in office, shop, and field environments. Support Microsoft 365 environment including user accounts, licensing, MFA, and general administration. Maintain hardware, software, mobile device and licensing inventory records. Perform recurring operational maintenance including workstation and firmware updates, antivirus monitoring, device health checks, and printer preventative maintenance. Onboard and offboard employees including account setup/removal, device preparation, and file backup. Assist with data backup systems, backup monitoring, and disaster recovery systems. Assist with email security and spam filtering administration. Support networking infrastructure including switches, wireless access points, internet connectivity, and VPN access. Assist with infrastructure improvement projects as assigned. Support field operations, including jobsite trailer setup, internet connectivity, and workstation deployment. Provide support for security cameras, door access systems, and related technology. Create and maintain IT documentation, procedures, training materials, and checklists. Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, phishing awareness training, security best practices, and compliance requirements including CMMC readiness. Provide on-call or after-hours support when necessary. Perform other administrative duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 or more years relevant experience in IT support, systems administration, or related role preferred. High school diploma or GED and 4 or more years relevant experience required in lieu of a degree. Experience supporting Windows operating systems, workstation deployment, and Microsoft 365 environments. Experience supporting mobile devices and endpoint management. Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality. Must have outstanding customer service skills and professional demeanor. Must have effective time management skills and be able to work independently. Advanced proficiency in Office 365 Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, required. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required.
Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary work, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods of time. Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and operating office equipment. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching within an office environment. Ability to lift and carry light objects, typically up to 10 lbs.
Compensation:
Starting at $28 - 32/hr, based on experience. 100% paid benefits, including health/dental/vision insurance premiums, life insurance, LTD/STD and cancer insurance. 401(k) with 3% company match and profit sharing.
