Non-Exempt General Function The IT Expense Specialist supports indirect procurement for Hy-Vee and its subsidiaries. Specializing in technology related invoicing, budget preparation and procurement, this role works collaboratively across the organization. They ensure vendor products and services are purchased, charged, and categorized accurately. This role may support contract and vendor management. The IT Expense Specialist also assists IT leaders with expense management. Core Competencies Problem Solving Communication Organization Collaborative Time Management Attention to Detail Primary Duties and Responsibilities Supports IT Leadership with processing of invoices for all technology products, ensures timely payment and correct classification, billing to other business units. Responsible for monthly reporting which includes the IT Profit & Loss Statement. Provides quarterly and year end reporting for executives. Provides status of statement of account, updates to vendors, conducts various spend queries Maintain accurate records including contracts, invoices and purchase orders. Purchase goods and services that meet the quantity and quality expectation of Hy-Vee Answers inquires from internal partners, vendors, construction and third-party installers Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics Commitment to the Hy-Vee Mission and a willingness to promote the values of the company Strong verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and interact with others in a tactful, friendly, professional manner Strong problem resolution skills. Ability to use available reports, identify trends, problems and issues that prevent or delay payment to vendors Ability to communicate issues and facilitate issue resolution. Identifies the need to escalate to leadership when necessary Ability to identify problems, develop and execute solutions Strong computer skills in Microsoft office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook Preferred experience using SAP Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent experience required; additional training or education from an accredited college or university preferred.
Physical Requirements Visual requirements include:
ability to see detail at near range with or without correction Must be physically able to perform light work: lifting no more than 20 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects of no more than 10 pounds; frequent standing or walking. May be required to lift objects of up to 40 pounds when assisting in mail room Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions Working Conditions The duties of this position are performed in a general office setting.
