IT SPECIALIST
(CUSTSPT) TITLE 32, GS-2210-9/11, you will serve as a customer support specialist performing work involving analytical and evaluive duties reled to classified and unclassified informion technology networks and/or cyber system with primary knowledge requirements of informion processing methodology, informion technology, telecommunicions systems, computer capabilities, processing techniques, IT trouble ticket management, and da communicions. Major Duties
  • This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Provide customer technical assistance and support for all users.
Work with the CFP and customers to resolve integrion or configurion reled issues associed with a variety of different system plforms, opering systems, applicions, and equipment configurions. Work with customers to ensure efficient operions which support each units' requirements. Determine customer requirements and assist customers by recognizing and analyzing trends and providing instruction and oriention services. Plan, coordine, install, and continuously analyze system design, hardware and software. Analyze, manage, and direct installion of any new hardware or software introduced into the environment to ensure its compibility with existing architecture, its reliability, and functionality in relion to the organizion's business requirements. Track life of system equipment, prepare and provide analyses to determine future maintenance and replacement costs to help justify budget submissions. Recommend methods and procedures and coordine corrective action to optimize utilizion of present equipment. Perform system audits to assess security parameters and performance of IA controls within the network environment. Optimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems and ensure availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of system/functional resources while managing the communicions focal point coordinion and workload distribution duties. Perform testing, troubleshoot, correct problems, and distribute workload relive to interface and interoperability of system components such as hardware, systems software, and applicions programs. Assess and mitige security vulnerabilities of installed system hardware and software. Develop, recommend, and install solutions and upgrade to ensure availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of all components of the assigned system. Run tests to verify operability and functionality; analyze hardware and software malfunctions to resolve physical and logical processing problems; and recommend acquisition of programs, process or equipment which will resolve operional problems. Oversee and initie corrective or preventive measures to rectify immedie problems and prevent future occurrences through the CFP. Respond to trouble reports by analyzing problems, providing solutions, and recommending actions necessary to avoid future difficulties such as enhancing, replacing, or modifying existing programs, applicions, and equipment. INCUMBENT CONDUCTS INFORMATION ASSURANCE FUNCTIONS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE OUTLINED IN DOD INSTRUCTION 8570.01-M
