A&R Services is seeking an experienced, hands-on Asset Technician to support our growing construction operations throughout Central Illinois. This position serves as the primary field support resource for the Asset Manager and plays a critical role in keeping our crews productive by ensuring equipment, materials, tools, and vehicles are where they need to be when they need to be there. The ideal candidate is an experienced construction professional who is mechanically inclined, takes ownership of their work, and enjoys solving problems. This individual will be trusted to work independently while supporting field operations, maintaining company assets, and helping execute the daily logistics needs of the company. This is not an entry-level driving position. We are looking for someone who understands construction operations, equipment, transportation, and maintenance. Primary ResponsibilitiesEquipment & Asset Support Transport construction equipment between jobsites, vendors, storage yards, and company facilities. Perform equipment pickups and deliveries. Assist the Asset Manager with equipment tracking, inspections, and asset management. Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance needs. Coordinate routine maintenance and service appointments as directed. Assist with equipment inventory and organization. Material & Tool Logistics Deliver materials, tools, and supplies to construction projects. Pick up materials from suppliers and vendors. Verify deliveries for accuracy and completeness. Support inventory management of commonly used materials and consumables. Assist with maintaining organized storage areas and equipment yards. Fleet & Vehicle Support Load, transport, and position construction equipment in support of company operations. Conduct daily vehicle and trailer inspections. Maintain cleanliness and organization of fleet assets. Coordinate repairs and maintenance as directed by the Asset Manager. Mechanical Support Perform routine maintenance on company equipment, vehicles, tools, and small engines. Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and identify potential failures before they impact operations. Assist with equipment servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs. Coordinate with outside service providers when repairs exceed internal capabilities. Operations Support Respond to field requests and changing project needs. Assist superintendents, foremen, project managers, and office staff with logistical needs. Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, and equipment utilization. Represent A&R Services professionally with vendors, customers, and the public. What Success Looks LikeOwnership Takes initiative without waiting to be told what to do. Maintains organized equipment yards, shops, and storage areas. Keeps accurate records and documentation. Communicates proactively regarding issues, delays, and maintenance needs. Execution Delivers the right equipment and materials to the right place at the right time. Minimizes downtime through proactive planning and maintenance. Maintains company assets in excellent condition. Supports field operations with urgency and professionalism. Required Qualifications Valid Class A CDL Current DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one Clean driving record Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, equipment, transportation, agriculture, mechanical maintenance, or a related field. Experience hauling trailers and construction equipment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong communication and organizational skills Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability Ability to lift and move construction materials and equipment Preferred Qualifications Experience loading, transporting, inspecting, and performing routine maintenance on construction equipment preferred. Small engine repair and troubleshooting experience Diesel engine maintenance and diagnostic experience Experience managing equipment inventories and asset tracking Welding or fabrication experience Knowledge of construction materials and jobsite operations Why Join A&R Services?
