This role is pivotal in providing expert technical assistance related to diesel engine systems, supporting product development, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, advanced technical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects and ensure the optimal performance of diesel engine technologies across diverse applications. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive technical support for diesel engine systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostics. Conduct root cause analysis on engine performance issues and develop effective corrective actions. Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize mechanical components using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo. Assist in project scheduling to ensure timely completion of engineering tasks and deliverables. Develop and review schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical designs adhering to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards. Perform mechanical design modifications, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes or repair components using hand tools, welding, and machining techniques. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges for quality assurance. Support equipment maintenance, calibration, and repair activities following ASME codes & standards. Use labVIEW and other testing tools for data acquisition and analysis related to engine performance. Document technical procedures, schematics, and reports accurately for internal records and compliance. Skills Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles with expertise in mechanical design, fabrication, and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and Schematics drafting tools. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC machining, and equipment repair. Ability to perform root cause analysis using systematic problem-solving methodologies. Familiarity with GD&T standards for precise mechanical drawings. Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and micrometers. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards relevant to mechanical design and fabrication. Competence in project scheduling to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Hands-on experience with welding, soldering, fabrication techniques, and maintenance procedures. Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of math fundamentals applicable to engineering calculations. Ability to interpret electrical schematics and work with labVIEW or similar data acquisition systems. Excellent communication skills for collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
