Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic IT support team as a Desktop Support Technician and become the frontline hero for our organization's technology needs! In this energetic role, you will deliver essential technical support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure seamless computer operations across various operating systems. Your proactive approach will help maintain a robust IT infrastructure, empowering users to work efficiently and confidently. Duties Provide prompt and professional technical support to end-users via help desk platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira, resolving issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices. Manage computer hardware including installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades for Windows and macOS systems. Troubleshoot software problems across multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux, ensuring minimal downtime. Assist with network connectivity issues by configuring and supporting LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), firewalls, and other network components. Support the management of IT infrastructure by maintaining computer inventories and documenting incidents using BMC Remedy or similar ticketing tools. Collaborate with team members to implement security measures such as firewall configurations and VPN access to safeguard organizational data. Communicate clearly with users to provide exceptional customer service while explaining technical solutions in an understandable manner. Requirements Proven experience in IT support or desktop support roles with a strong foundation in troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Proficiency in managing computers running Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. Solid understanding of computer networking concepts including LAN setup, VPN configuration, firewalls, and basic network troubleshooting. Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira for tracking incidents and requests. Knowledge of computer hardware components and peripherals along with experience in software troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
