Job Description
TECHNOLOGY HELP DESK TECHNICIAN
Sayre School seeks an energetic, customer-focused individual to serve as the Technology Help Desk Technician for our three academic divisions. This position provides daily technology support to faculty, staff, and students in the Upper, Middle, and Lower Schools. The technician will respond to help requests, troubleshoot classroom technology issues, and support the management of school-owned and student devices. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, a friendly and patient demeanor, and the ability to communicate clearly with users of varying technical skill levels. This position reports to the Director of Technology and works collaboratively with divisional leadership. Primary job responsibilities and opportunities include: User Support and Troubleshooting Provide timely support for day-to-day technology issues, including MacBook and iPad troubleshooting, Apple TV connectivity, and classroom audio/visual equipment. Respond to help desk requests and visit classrooms or offices as needed to resolve issues. Open support tickets with vendors, schedule appointments and possibly visit the local Apple Genius Bar, or take other steps to resolve problems as required. Issue, replace, and support door access credentials (keycards/fobs), including coordinating activation and deactivation in the access control system. Device Management and Maintenance Use the Mosyle MDM platform to manage school-owned and student BYOD devices, including enrollment, app deployment, and permission settings. Coordinate repairs or replacements for school-owned devices. Assist students and families with service needs for BYOD devices, including helping to coordinate repairs. Training and Knowledge Support Learn and support classroom instructional software and apps. Support users in Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, etc.), including password resets and account troubleshooting. Perform basic support tasks within the Blackbaud student information system. Facilities and Infrastructure Support Maintain classroom AV systems, including projectors, displays, speakers, bulbs, and filters. Support the printer/copier fleet, including replenishing supplies and managing service needs. Coordinate installation, maintenance, or upgrades with vendors as needed. Other Duties as Assigned Assist occasionally with student supervision (car line, playground, etc.). Support school events involving technology setup (assemblies, presentations, etc.) as needed. Required Professional Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field preferred 1-2 years of experience in an IT help desk or customer support role Demonstrated success in independent / public school or higher education a plus Preferred Technical Experience Proficiency with macOS and iOS environments Familiarity with basic networking concepts (Wi-Fi, DHCP, DNS) Experience with Mosyle MDM or similar device management systems Desired Professional Qualities Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities Friendly, positive, and patient approach to customer service Clear and professional communication skills Excellent organization and task management Flexibility to shift priorities and manage multiple ongoing requests Interested applicants are asked to submit a resume, cover letter, and references to the Technology Director, Mr. Jason Whitaker.
