Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Generalist to support and maintain the organization's Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing facility. This hands-on role is responsible for end-user support, systems administration, infrastructure maintenance, cybersecurity, and operational technology support to ensure the reliable operation of business, engineering, and manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience supporting enterprise and manufacturing technologies, and a solid understanding of the unique requirements of aerospace production environments. This position requires a proactive professional capable of supporting daily operations while maintaining system security, reliability, compliance, and performance. Key Responsibilities IT Infrastructure & End-User Support Deploy, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and peripheral equipment. Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for hardware, software, network, application, and user-access issues. Manage user accounts, permissions, security groups, and access controls within Active Directory and Microsoft 365. Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, Hyper-V virtualization, and supporting infrastructure. Troubleshoot network connectivity, wireless, VPN, VoIP, and communication issues. Support endpoint management, software deployment, patch management, and system updates. Maintain IT asset inventories, software licensing records, and technology lifecycle management processes. Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, network diagrams, and user guides. Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement, software licensing, warranty support, and technical services. Manufacturing & Engineering Systems Support Support technology systems used by engineering, quality, production, and operations teams. Assist with administration and support of ERP, MES, PLM, quality management, and manufacturing-related applications. Support engineering workstations running CAD, CAM, simulation, and product development software. Troubleshoot connectivity and integration issues between manufacturing equipment and business systems. Assist in protecting engineering intellectual property and controlled technical data. Support production floor technology, barcode systems, label printers, scanners, and manufacturing workstations. Cybersecurity & Compliance Assist with cybersecurity initiatives including vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, security monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery processes. Perform patch management and security updates for servers, workstations, and network infrastructure. Support implementation of identity and access management controls, multi-factor authentication, and security policies. Participate in security audits, compliance assessments, and incident response activities. Maintain documentation required for aerospace industry cybersecurity and compliance requirements. Assist with backup validation, disaster recovery testing, and business continuity activities. Operational Technology (OT) Support Support connectivity and communication between enterprise IT systems and manufacturing operational technology environments. Understand and follow best practices for working within industrial and production environments. Assist with troubleshooting industrial networks, manufacturing equipment connectivity, and network-connected production devices. Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, and industrial automation infrastructure under the direction of engineering and operations personnel. Follow strict change management procedures to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations. Support cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems and OT networks. Assist with network segmentation and access control measures between business and manufacturing environments. Continuous Improvement & Project Support Participate in infrastructure upgrades, technology deployments, and manufacturing technology improvement initiatives. Assist with implementation of new hardware, software, and cybersecurity solutions. Support IT projects related to digital transformation, automation, and smart manufacturing initiatives. Recommend improvements to system reliability, security, and operational efficiency. Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and cybersecurity threats affecting manufacturing environments. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or general technology support. Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows Server, networking technologies, and endpoint management solutions. Strong understanding of workstation deployment, hardware support, software installation, and help desk operations. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, and security best practices. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and support multiple priorities in a production-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting aerospace, defense, manufacturing, industrial, or highly regulated environments. Familiarity with aerospace compliance requirements such as
AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, NIST
800-171, and CMMC. Preferred Certifications CompTIA A+ CompTIA Network+ CompTIA Security+ Microsoft Certifications Success Factors The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical professional who enjoys solving complex problems, supporting manufacturing operations, and continuously improving technology systems. Success in this role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, cybersecurity awareness, and the ability to support both traditional IT infrastructure and manufacturing technologies in a highly regulated aerospace environment.
Location Requirement:
This position is located on a federal facility. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and are required to pass a comprehensive background check to meet the security clearance standards necessary for work in this environment.
