Nional Guard Membership IS required for this announcement. Duties Help Provides IT engineering and installion services to DoD, MAJCOM, NGB and base level customers. Performs IT architectural design and engineering work for complete IT systems, downward directed programs/systems, Internet Protocol (IP)-based systems and circuits, one-of-a-kind systems, routine upgrades, and system enhancements. Analyzes capabilities and performance, identifies problems, and directs corrective actions to provide seamless integrion, proper configurion, operion, defense, restorion, and improvements. Deploys, sustains, troubleshoots and repairs standard voice, da and video network infrastructure systems, IP detection systems and cryptographic equipment. Directs activities for installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, deploying, and modifying cyberspace systems and equipment plforms and evalues facilities layout and performance standards. Researches, interprets and applies approprie technical and policy guidance for each assigned project. Ensures downward directed IT projects/programs integre with existing infrastructures. 20% 2. Manages and directs engineering and installions training and operions in garrison and deployed locions. Conducts career field development and mentoring for subordine cyberspace support personnel. Plans and organizes cyberspace support activities. Determines equipment, training and supplies required for systems implemention and support. Advises unit personnel, and training activities on ways to improve their OJT program. Recommends cost-effective processes to meet specialty qualificions, skill level upgrade requirements, and PME applicions. Provides instructional methods, and determines training requirements. Analyzes training da for trends, and coordines corrective action. Establishes local policies and procedures to provide a uniform and effective internal OJT program. Establishes tactics, techniques and procedures. Ensures work standards are maintained. Organizes and participes in mission implemention and conversion. Performs administrive support for function personnel including requesting special orders, making travel arrangements and assembling da to support engineering efforts. Requests, evalues, and selects engineering workload to meet function training and proficiency requirements. Ensures compliance with standards for systems documention. 20% 3. Produces IT architectural installion project packages. Coordines project requirements with affected Communicion and Informion Systems Officer (CSO) to ensure system inter-operability, compibility, and cost effectiveness of the proposed technical solution. Directs activities responsible for system analysis and design, programming, operions and maintenance, security, systems management, technical support, plans, implemention, and resource management. Researches, interprets, and implements policies, directives, and procedures to ensure proposed requirement(s) conform to policies, standards, and guidelines. Advises the CSO on potential problems or delays. Coordines project requirements and assignment of project identificion numbers with project manager. Ensures project package is published and distributed. Reviews, recommends, and implements changes to communicions-computer systems installions records (CSIR), technical da, engineering drawings, and equipment wiring diagrams. Reviews assigned projects for environmental considerions. Applies communicions security programs to include physical, cryptographic, transmission, and emission security. Develops and ensures compliance with safety standards and instructions. Ensures required studies and tests such as electro-magnetic compibility, electro-magnetic radiion hazards, TEMPEST, are performed and included in final IT project package. Recommends solutions to electromagnetic compibility problems. Utilizes a comprehensive knowledge and ability to interpret Air Force Instructions, Technical Orders, engineering drawings, product specificions, Air Force Occupional and Health (AFOSH) and environmental standards, public law, and locally developed policy. Evalues and assesses complex systems, subsystems, integred systems/subsystems, or components for conformance to applicable technical da, engineering drawings, standards and specificions. Establishes and develops performance checklists, MICT and metrics in coordinion with Chief of Quality Assurance section. 15% 4. Configures, installs, maintains, reconstitutes, removes, reloces, overhauls, and modifies IP-based systems, circuits, and intrusion detection systems, physical and wireless Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), ground radio, sellite, and telemetry communicions, command and control, weher, 15% Performs other duties as assigned. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Must have least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to least the next lower grade. In addition to the OPM IORs (Alternive A) specialized experience examples, specialized experience includes experience, educion, or training th approaches techniques and requirements approprie to an assigned computer applicions area or computer specialty area in an organizion. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordinion with others outside the organizional unit and development of project controls. Experience th required adaptions of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documention on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the merial and organizing it in a logical fashion. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.
