Job Description

IT Desktop Support Technician 80 hours bi-weekly Weekday Day Shift | 8a-4:30p Some weekends, nights, or holidays may be required as needed for coverage At Meritus Health, technology is more than infrastructure—it's a lifeline for care delivery. As an IT Support Technician, you'll provide first-line technical support for computer hardware, software, and network systems across the health system. Often serving as the "face of IT," you'll represent the department with professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to resolving issues efficiently. This role is ideal for a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the importance of reliable technology in clinical and administrative settings. You'll troubleshoot, install, and configure systems in alignment with Meritus Health standards, ensuring that staff can focus on what matters most—caring for the community. Key Responsibilities Provide first-line technical support for PC hardware, software, thin clients, and network connectivity Troubleshoot and resolve standard technical issues with professionalism and follow-through Install and configure PC operating systems and applications according to Meritus Health standards Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows OS, graphical user interfaces, and advanced application features (e.g., macros, databases, OLE) Serve as a visible and approachable representative of the IT team, delivering excellent customer service Document support activities and escalate complex issues as needed Support end users across clinical and administrative departments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations Uphold Meritus Health's values of excellence, integrity, and collaboration in every interaction Minimum Qualifications Education Associate's degree or completion of technical school coursework required Bachelor's degree preferred Experience Minimum of four years of hands-on computer user support experience required Experience with PC hardware, software, and troubleshooting required Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows operating systems, and advanced application tools preferred Licensure/Certification Professional certification such as A+ or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) preferred For use of personal vehicles: Access to a vehicle and valid driver's license from any state required Must sign "Attestation A" of Meritus Vehicle Management Use and Control policy, including personal insurance coverage requirements For use of Meritus vehicles: Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred (no moving violations in past 3 years) Certified copy of driving record required annually on date of birth Must sign "Attestation A" of Meritus Vehicle Management Use and Control policy Additional Requirements Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship Corp-to-Corp (C2C) arrangements are not accepted for this role Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong problem-solving and customer service skills Thorough understanding of PC hardware, software, and network connections Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to responsive, user-centered technical support Caring for Our Team We are committed to supporting the well-being and professional development of our team members through a comprehensive benefits package, which includes: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Coverage begins on the first of the month following your hire date .
