  • THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP
  • This position is loced in an informion management organizion.
The purpose of the position is to serve as the principle manager responsible for digital communicions services planning, resource, policy and standards development for the entire enterprise infrastructure. This position directly coordines with the C4 work centers, local telephone companies, long distance service providers and other vendors as required. The communicions services supported extend beyond the traditional telephony systems, often referred to as plain old telephone systems (POTS). The communicions systems involve ste-of-the-art digital communicions technology, such as voice over frame (VOF) and voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) systems.
  • -Responsible for providing expert technical advice and guidance on critical digital communicions issues to ensure the integrion of C4 programs and services and to solve integrion and interoperability issues.
  • -Understands and provides input to the development and implemention of bandwidth configurion plans for complex Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) with supported elements to include; headquarters staff elements, tenant activities, ste government, regional opering activities, and nional agencies.
  • -Develops the communicions architecture and maintains the enterprise infrastructure. This requires defining, documenting and maintaining the current and future business environments across many plforms and a multiplicity of digital communicions services to ensure the enterprise stregic plan is resourced and supported.
  • -Has overall responsibility for planning and developing current and future digital, analog, asynchronous transmission mode (ATM) communicions infrastructure. Directly coordines with the Network Control Center (NCC) Manager on all communicions services in direct support of the enterprise stregic IT plan.
  • -Has overall responsibility for determining funding requirements, preparing budget requests, and executing the communicions budget to achieve near term and stregic goals. Establishes metrics to measure and evalue systems performance and total cost of ownership.
  • -Provides policy guidance in coordinion with the operional elements of the NCC Manager regarding digital communicions issues to the DCSIM for stewide implemention. This position is directly responsible for conducting IT audits on all communicions programs within the ste to include a broad range of services and technologies.
  • -Writes policy and plans for the installion Continuity of Operions Plan (COOP). Tests the ste COOP plan, ensuring system operion functionality and security in the event of a nural disaster or castrophic system failures.
  • -Coordines the work and guides lower-graded communicions personnel to in maintaining the enterprise sustaining base digital, analog and ATM communicions infrastructure.
  • -Works closely with IT service providers to optimize support and integrion of new technologies.
  • -May be assigned to assist the chief by performing limited leader responsibilities.
Distributes and balances workload among employees. Gives on-the-job training to lower-graded employees. Approves leave for assigned employees. Provides input into annual performance appraisals. Resolves simple complaints and grievances, referring the more serious ones to the supervisor. Recommends training needs for employees. Provides input to the supervisor concerning selections, promotions, reassignments, recognition of outstanding performance. MILITARY GRADE
