We are looking for a full-time IT Support Specialistto join our team in Traverse City location. Focus Reporting to the Director of IT, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing hands-on, day-to-day technology support for end users across the organization. This role focuses on resolving common user issues, maintaining reliable access to systems and tools, and ensuring employees can work efficiently with minimal disruption. The position serves as the primary point of contact for internal IT support while partnering with a managed service provider for escalations, infrastructure, and specialized projects. This role is ideal for a proactive problem-solver who enjoys helping people, thrives in a fast-paced support environment, and can balance technical troubleshooting with strong communication.
Key Accountabilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for end-user IT support requests (in-person and remote) Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to: Microsoft Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint, Windows 10/11 workstations and laptops, VPN and remote access connectivity, Printers, scanners, label printers, and peripherals. Perform new user onboarding and offboarding tasks, including: Account setup and deactivation, Laptop provisioning and setup, Access and permissions management. Resolve login issues, password resets, and account lockouts Support hardware setup, replacement, and asset tracking Track and manage support requests through a ticketing system Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for recurring issues Coordinate with the managed service provider for escalations, projects, and advanced troubleshooting Key Attributes and Skills Technical Skills Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) Experience troubleshooting Windows-based endpoints (Windows 10/11) Familiarity with VPN clients and remote access tools Understanding of MFA tools (e.g., DUO or similar) Experience supporting printers, scanners, and peripheral devices Knowledge of user accounts, permissions, and directory services Soft Skills Strong customer service orientation, ability to work with a diverse set of users from upper management to end users and to be able to communicate effectively across groups Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while effectively prioritizing and executing tasks Strong organizational and time-management skills Clear, professional communication skills (verbal and written) Good judgment in knowing when to resolve an issue independently versus escalateEducation and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field 3-5 years of experience in an IT support, help desk, or MSP Tier 1/Tier 2 role Experience supporting users in a corporate or multi-location environment Experience utilizing ITSM / ticketing tools Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Microsoft Azure, CompTIA A+, Network+) are a plusPay:
