Automation Automation Technical Support Specialist Direct Hire | Brooklyn Park, MN | $45-$48/hour We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join a global support team supporting advanced industrial manufacturing equipment used by customers around the world. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems, supporting customers, and solving problems in real time. In this position, you will serve as a primary technical resource for customers and internal teams, providing remote troubleshooting, technical guidance, and occasional on-site service. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, field service technicians, production teams, and spare parts specialists to ensure customers receive fast, effective solutions and exceptional service. Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to customers and internal teams via phone, email, and remote connection tools. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation issues on industrial equipment. Identify replacement parts, provide repair instructions, and coordinate solutions with engineering and field service teams. Document support requests and resolutions within the service management system. Develop troubleshooting guides, service procedures, and recommended spare parts lists. Perform quality checks and manufacturing test protocols on newly built machines. Travel to customer sites as needed to troubleshoot equipment, perform maintenance, and support installations. Approximately 25% travel.

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in technical service, field service, or manufacturing support roles. Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills involving industrial equipment, automation systems, or machinery. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery, industrial automation, or CNC-based systems preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to support customers and collaborate across technical teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word) and service documentation systems. Technical degree in robotics, automation, machinery, electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
