This position is primarily responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance over the phone, conducting parts research and pricing, delivering technical training, and offering occasional on-site technical support as needed. The role serves as a key technical resource for Continental Machines (CMI) customers and the Field Service team.
Responsibilities:
Provide phone and online technical support to customers and Field Service Technicians, answering questions related to machine assembly, troubleshooting, and repairs. Conduct Technical Service School training, covering topics such as electrical systems, basic electronics, hydraulics, schematic and ladder diagram interpretation, sequence of operation, machine line-up, and machine assembly. Respond to inquiries regarding part numbers and assist with identifying correct parts and assemblies. Determine pricing and availability of service parts and process orders as required. Interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics to diagnose and troubleshoot machine issues. Locate and retrieve prints for the manufacture of obsolete parts. Research customer requirements and recommend appropriate solutions. Support the development and maintenance of an internal and external knowledge base to aid in diagnosing machine concerns. Perform on-site field repair work as needed, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions. Participate in the development and implementation of Service Department processes. Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Experience & Education Requirements:
Excellent mechanical aptitude with strong electrical and hydraulic system knowledge. Proven experience troubleshooting electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC and hydraulic circuitry. Experience with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and servos is a plus. Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams. Basic machining skills, including sawing, drilling, and milling. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail. Goal-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects and ongoing activities. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to travel domestically with limited international travel.

Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
