Nature of Work Provide support and direction to end users on a variety of issues including the setup, repair, maintenance, and upgrade of hardware and software. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Provide network support services as directed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and/or coordinate the setup and installation of hardware and software for new IT equipment. Upgrade, repair and maintain software and hardware. Maintain a database of all IT related equipment. Troubleshoot, recommend and, as needed, resolve problems on company IT equipment. Schedule and estimate the time, cost and labor for completion of jobs and projects. Establish relationship with vendors to ensure compliance with license and service agreements. Participate in the development of equipment and software specifications and the request for proposal (RFP) process. Assist with the backup of the computer system and storage of backup media in a secure location. Respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Document, track and monitor the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization. Education A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience. Experience Two to five years or more of related work experience required. Physical Demands & Work Environment Physical demands for this position are moderate. Typically the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be walking, standing, bending or lifting of moderately heavy (25-50 pounds) items. The work may require specific but common physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
