IT Field Technician

IT Field Technician Rainbow tech LLC Rainbow Tech LLC is seeking a dependable Entry-Level Field Technician to support DSL, copper telecom, coax distribution, satellite systems (Dish & DirecTV), and basic network equipment in hospitality and multi-dwelling environments. This position requires travel within approximately 100 miles of your home base. Travel is not required every day, but we stay consistently busy. This is a hands-on role. You must be comfortable working in telecom closets, IDFs, ceilings, and rack environments. Minimum Requirements (Required) Basic understanding of DSL over copper pairs Familiarity with 66 and 110 blocks Ability to tone and identify copper pairs Understanding of no-dial-tone and line continuity troubleshooting Basic coax knowledge (splitters, signal path, connectors) Familiarity with Dish Network and/or DirecTV systems Comfortable working in MDF/IDF environments Professional communication skills Preferred Experience DSL troubleshooting experience Experience with DSLAM environments Satellite headend or launch amp familiarity Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, switches, PoE awareness) Experience replacing modems, APs, or switches Hospitality or hotel experience Responsibilities Troubleshoot DSL connectivity and copper issues Trace and identify pairs from MDF to IDF Test and repair coax signal paths Assist with Dish and DirecTV system troubleshooting Replace patch cables, wall plates, modems, and power supplies Verify power at equipment (including UPS checks) Provide labeled before/after photos Complete clear documentation before leaving site Communicate findings with remote engineering support Must have reliable transportation Travel & Compensation Travel up to 100 miles from home base Fuel reimbursement provided Cellphone reimbursement provided Company laptop provided Meters and specialty tools provided Paid training Consistent workload What We're Looking For Mechanically inclined and detail-oriented Process-driven (no guessing or shortcuts) Able to work independently onsite Teachable and willing to grow into networking roles Professional with clients and property staff
