School of Pharmacy- Jackson, MS Job Summary:
Performs technical troubleshooting by leveraging documented procedures and ensuring a high level of customer service in order to support the business and academic mission of the institution through technology.
Job Description:
Identifies, troubleshoots, resolves, and/or escalates routine and first level technical problems for various products and services. Receives and responds to inquiries and provides technical information through various communication mediums according to established policies and procedures. Using the ticketing system, log details of work performed, and resolution procedures, after intervention. Assist with training student staff.
Job Responsibilities:
The Computer Support Specialist provides technical support for both computer systems and audio-visual equipment, assisting faculty, staff, and students with hardware, software, and classroom technology needs. This role includes installing and maintaining computers, troubleshooting network and system issues, and setting up, operating, and supporting AV equipment for lectures, meetings, and events. This role supports classroom and administrative technical needs, and helps implement IT policies and security practices to maintain an efficient and secure academic environment.
Substitution Statement:
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
