Summary Provides technical support with installation and maintenance of computers systems and networks working to maintain updated and efficient computer systems and technology. Duties and Responsibilities Set up workstations with physical computers or virtual thin clients and necessary peripheral devices (printers, etc.). Check computer hardware to ensure functionality. Installs and configures appropriate software and functions according to specifications. Assists in troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve user and systematic problems. Manages wireless and ip security cameras. Maintains VMware VDi for Staff and Classrooms. Organizes and schedules upgrades and maintenance based on business needs. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. Secures quotes and orders equipment in accordance with guidelines. Maintains inventory in accordance with college guidelines. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements Associates's degree; at least 2 at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. OR High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of current hardware/technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Ability to prioritize and schedule work assignments. Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware and/or software solutions. Ability to maintain and troubleshoot computer network hardware, software, and peripherals. Knowledge of available computing and/or network hardware and peripheral equipment. Ability to develop and write systems and applications documentation and guides for users. Ability to provide a range of systems training and/or support activities for users. Ability to develop systems solutions for operational problems.
