Description UM Housing-Griz Card Center invites applications for a Customer & Technical Support Specialist to support daily operations, special events, and departmental projects. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Manage front counter operations, including ID production and distribution, payment processing, recordkeeping, UMoney transactions, and cash drawer balancing, while maintaining an organized and professional environment Deliver responsive customer service across multiple channels, troubleshoot and resolve issues, escalate complex cases, and serve as a campus liaison providing accurate information and referrals Troubleshoot and maintain hardware (card printers, POS systems, access equipment, time clocks, assessment devices), manage inventory and vendor/IT coordination, and perform hands-on work Collect, review, and analyze complex financial and operational data, including UMoney transactions, deposits, and reconciliations; investigate discrepancies and produce reports, calculations, and visualizations Support system administrator with standard Griz Card System functions Support office operations by managing supplies, assisting with device setup and troubleshooting, maintaining documentation and systems, supporting merchants and vendors, contributing to marketing and events, and ensuring overall operational readiness while collaborating across teams Provide supervisory support for student employees, working with guidance from the manager Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and work in confined spaces, which requires mobility and physical demands Tech-savvy and adaptable, with the ability to quickly learn new systems; proficient in standard office software (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and equipment Detail-oriented, with experience in data collection and analysis, accurate recordkeeping, and cash handling, including balancing drawers Highly organized, with strong time management and multitasking skills; able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy with high-volume data Effective communicator who can follow and develop procedures, produce clear written materials, and remain focused amid frequent interruptions while maintaining strict confidentiality Strong customer service and communication skills; able to resolve issues, build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, and stay composed in high-pressure situations Proactive, reliable, and emotionally intelligent team player who demonstrates sound judgment and works effectively both independently and collaboratively Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) Knowledge of one card management systems and/or badging systems Ability to identify and resolve day-to-day issues with identification card systems and point-of-sale systems Understanding of mobile and wearable technologies and their application within a campus card programAdditional Information Position Number:
