This is peer work, not clinical. We are looking for someone who has been there, who shows up consistently, and who knows what real recovery looks like. What you will do Be a peer to veterans in the program. Show up, listen, build trust. Use your lived experience to model recovery and offer support. Help veterans connect to community resources and recovery networks. Be part of a small, mission-driven team. Who you are
Required:
Veteran or military service background strongly preferred. 18+ months in active recovery from substance use or mental illness. Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS), or able to earn it within 12 months of hire (we cover the cost). High school diploma or equivalent. Able to work in person in Asheville. Clear background check.
Preferred:
Prior peer support experience. Compensation and schedule $20 to $26 per hour, based on certification and experience. Full-time, in person at our Asheville location.
