Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team! In this role, you will be the frontline hero for resolving technical issues, ensuring smooth computer operations, and maintaining a robust IT infrastructure across our organization. Duties Provide prompt and effective technical support to end-users via help desk tickets, phone, or in person, ensuring minimal downtime. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues related to desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices across various operating systems including Windows and macOS. Manage computer hardware inventory, perform upgrades, repairs, and installations to optimize performance. Configure and maintain network connectivity including LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), firewalls, and wireless access points to ensure secure and reliable access. Support software troubleshooting for applications such as Microsoft Office suite, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, Jira, and other enterprise tools. Assist with computer management tasks such as user account setup, permissions management, operating system updates, and security patches. Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to monitor network health, implement security protocols like firewall rules, and support Linux-based systems when needed. Skills Strong technical support skills with a focus on desktop support and help desk operations. Extensive knowledge of operating systems including Windows and macOS; familiarity with Linux is a plus. Proficiency in computer networking concepts such as LAN setup, VPN configuration, firewall management, and troubleshooting connectivity issues. Experience with software troubleshooting for common applications like Microsoft Office; familiarity with enterprise tools like ServiceNow or Jira is advantageous. Solid understanding of computer hardware components and maintenance procedures. Excellent communication skills to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical users while providing outstanding customer service. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
