Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your security engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (such as IT, operations, and engineering), troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement network security measures, among other responsibilities. You'll specifically take care of developing security engineering requirements, procedures, and policies for on-premise environments, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), and Supervisory Control systems, but also provide technical expertise to enhance our IT infrastructure. We'll look to you for: Installing, configuring, maintaining, and managing networking devices, servers, storage, and operating systems Evaluating and recommending procurement of network-related devices, servers, and software Investigating problems, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions Planning, implementing, and administering network security Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information processed, stored, or transmitted Participating in audits and contributing to business continuity and disaster recovery planning Providing technical expertise in researching and recommending information security systems and controls Maintaining the company's UC phone system and ensuring continuous operation Displaying leadership qualities and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities All about you We value passion and attitude over experience. Instead, we've listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field Experience with VMware ESXI, vSphere, and VMware Tools (design, scaling, capacity management) Knowledge of Nexsan and QNAP storage systems Familiarity with Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, and UCS servers Understanding of TCP/IP-based LANs, iSCSI, Fiber Channel SANs, and VPNs Experience with Dell PowerEdge servers and DRAC Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016 and Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, GPO management) Knowledge of federal IT standards such as NIST Experience with current Red Hat/CentOS Linux operating systems Systems monitoring and management in a high-availability data center environment UHF Radio communication experience (a plus) At least five years of experience in network and/or systems engineering and administration in a mixed Windows/Linux environment Things you'll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey - the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career.
