Contract Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Expert IT Specialist / Desktop Engineer to provide advanced desktop engineering, endpoint management, infrastructure support, and technical troubleshooting services. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in desktop engineering, Windows operating systems, enterprise endpoint management, cybersecurity, Active Directory administration, and enterprise-level technical support. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, securing, and supporting desktop environments while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and cybersecurity best practices. This role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment. Key ResponsibilitiesDesktop Engineering & Endpoint Management Design, build, configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise desktop and laptop environments. Create, manage, and maintain Windows operating system images and software deployment packages. Perform operating system upgrades, patch management, and endpoint lifecycle management. Develop and implement desktop standards, configurations, and deployment strategies. Troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop hardware, software, and operating system issues. Windows Administration Administer and support Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 10 environments. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows-based systems and services. Support enterprise desktop modernization initiatives and operating system migrations. Ensure system performance, reliability, and security compliance. Active Directory & Group Policy Administration Manage Active Directory users, groups, organizational units, and permissions. Design, implement, and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs). Support enterprise authentication, authorization, and access management processes. Maintain Active Directory security and operational best practices. PowerShell Automation Develop, maintain, and enhance PowerShell scripts for automation and administration. Automate deployment, configuration, reporting, and system management tasks. Create reusable automation solutions to improve operational efficiency. Security & Compliance Implement and support endpoint security controls and security hardening standards. Manage antivirus solutions, encryption technologies, PKI certificates, and endpoint protection tools. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Participate in vulnerability remediation and security incident response activities. Mobile Device Management (MDM) Administer and support enterprise Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions. Configure and manage mobile devices, security policies, and compliance settings. Troubleshoot device enrollment, configuration, and connectivity issues. Network & Remote Access Support Troubleshoot desktop connectivity and networking issues. Support DHCP, VLANs, ACLs, firewalls, and related networking technologies. Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for VPN and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions. Collaborate with network and security teams to resolve infrastructure-related issues. Hardware Support Support and maintain Intel-based workstation hardware and peripheral devices. Coordinate hardware deployments, upgrades, replacements, and inventory management. Diagnose and resolve complex hardware failures and performance issues. Technical Support & Operations Provide advanced Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for end users. Handle multiple simultaneous tasks, including: Laptop and desktop imaging User support requests Help desk escalations Troubleshooting hardware and software issues Phone and remote support activities Document troubleshooting procedures, technical solutions, and operational processes. Research, Analysis & Implementation Conduct technical research and evaluate emerging technologies. Analyze business and technical requirements. Develop implementation plans and deployment strategies. Participate in testing, validation, and rollout of new technologies and solutions. Required Qualifications Candidates must possess:
