Job Opening Information Help Desk Technician Application Deadline 5/13/2026 Position Title Help Desk Technician Required Application Type School Related Personnel Salary/Pay Scale $39,000/year, depending on qualifications and exp Job Description We are looking for a full-time Help Desk Technician for our school district. This is an 8 hour, 12 month position with an individual contract. The work involves responsibility for providing first-level technical support to end users within a school district, including teachers, administrators, and support staff. The incumbent serves as the initial point of contact for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring timely resolution or escalation as appropriate. Work is performed under general supervision of a higher-level information technology administrator, with some leeway allowed for independent judgment in resolving routine technical issues.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
(Illustrative only; does not include all possible duties) Provides first-level technical support to staff and students by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues Installs, configures, and maintains computers, devices, and classroom technology equipment Manages user accounts, access permissions, and supports district software applications Documents support requests and resolutions; escalates complex issues to appropriate IT staff or vendors Assists with technology inventory, device deployment, and provides basic training and guidance to users Civil Service Title Help Desk Technician Job Qualifications This is a provisional appointment pending the successful completion of the civil service test. 1. Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with an Associates Degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Data Processing, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field ; OR 2. Graduation from high school or a high school equivalency diploma and one year of full time paid experience involving Windows desktop applications.
