Full-Time / New York State Agency Position Summary Penda Aiken Inc. is a staffing firm located in Brooklyn, New York. Our client is a New York State Agency and is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Computer Support Specialist to join their technical operations team. These roles focus on providing comprehensive technical assistance, troubleshooting, and support directly to system users. The successful candidates will be responsible for resolving complex infrastructure issues in person, via telephone, or from designated remote locations. This is a fast-paced role requiring high reliability, punctuality, and the ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to system status monitoring. This is a dynamic, high-accountability technical role requiring exceptional multi-software competency, quick problem resolution under operational deadlines, and meticulous attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities User Assistance:
Deliver multi-tier technical assistance to computer system users to diagnose, isolate, and resolve system anomalies.
Issue Resolution:
Promptly answer technical inquiries and resolve nuanced software or hardware problems for clients across in-person, telephone, and remote environments.
Infrastructure Support:
Provide hardware and software administration, focusing on peripheral installations, network printing setups, word processing applications, electronic mail configurations, and primary operating systems.
Terminal Operations:
Securely enter operational commands at computer terminals and adjust settings/controls on primary systems and peripheral devices.
System Monitoring:
Continuously monitor running operations and rapidly respond to system error messages to ensure maximum up-time.
Minimum Qualifications Technical Knowledge:
Must possess advanced computer and software skills/knowledge well beyond those defined for standard Computer Operators.
Software Competency:
Proven, demonstrable mastery across multiple enterprise software platforms and operating systems.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively support users via phone, email, and in person.
