Vulnerability Information Technology Apprentice/Infrastructure Specialist Associate State of Ohio - Administrative Services - 3.7 Columbus, OH Job Details Full-time $24.16 - $25.77 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Loan forgiveness Life insurance Qualifications Computer operation Computer hardware Computer networking Full Job Description What you'll do: Under direction of Department of Administrative Services (DAS), Office of Information Security & Privacy management: Conducting vulnerability assessments: Support the team in performing vulnerability assessments on systems, applications, & networks. This includes identifying & documenting potential security weaknesses & suggesting remediation measures.
Assisting with security tool administration:
Support the administration & maintenance of security tools, such as firewalls, antivirus software, & intrusion detection systems. This could involve assisting with tool configuration, monitoring, & troubleshooting.
Providing general technical support:
Assist with general technical support for cybersecurity related issues. This may involve helping users with basic troubleshooting, answering security related inquiries, & escalating complex issues to senior team members. Under direction of
Management Staff:
Learn & work under the guidance of more experienced professionals. Job duties will involve supporting them in various tasks while gaining hands-on experience & knowledge in the field of cybersecurity. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Apprentice:
1 course or 2 months experience in Information Systems/Information Technology, or a related field including but not limited to:
Software Engineering/Development, Data Analytics/Business Intelligence, Database Administration, Network, IT Security and Help Desk/Customer Support Associate:
18 months combined work exp. &/or trg. In any combination of the following: installing, monitoring/maintaining, configuring, upgrading, &/or administering/operating a single technology domain. Or successful completion of IT Apprenticeship program at designated agency. Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems
Knowledge of:
Networks workstations, printers, & related devices. Hardware/software & networked/client applications. Computer science. Human relations.
Skill in:
Operation of a personal computer & peripherals.
Abilities:
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, & initiate solutions. Interpret extensive variety of technical material in books, journals, & manuals. Apply principles to solve practical, everyday problems. Handle inquiries from & contacts with officials & general public.
