Job Description
Overview We are seeking a Tier 1 Desktop Support Technician to provide frontline technical support for end users in a Windows-based environment. This role will focus on basic troubleshooting, device setup, and leveraging SCCM for endpoint management and deployments. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within IT support. Key Responsibilities Provide Tier 1 support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals in a Windows environment Troubleshoot Windows OS issues including login errors, application issues, and system performance Utilize SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) for software deployments, imaging, patching, and basic endpoint management Install, configure, and deploy new hardware and standard software packages Handle user account support tasks such as password resets, account unlocks, and basic permissions Support Office 365 and other standard enterprise applications Log, track, and update tickets in the IT service management system Deliver support via phone, remote tools, and in-person interactions Escalate complex issues to Tier 2/3 support teams as needed Maintain accurate documentation of processes and solutions Qualifications 0-2 years of desktop support or IT help desk experience Basic hands-on experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments Exposure to SCCM for imaging, deployments, or patch management preferred Familiarity with Active Directory and Office 365 is a plus Experience with an IT ticketing system (ServiceNow or similar) preferred Skills & Competencies Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues efficiently Willingness to learn and grow within endpoint management tools like SCCM Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset Preferred Associate's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience Entry-level certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft fundamentals) Exposure to enterprise environments and standardized deployment processes Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dayton, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
