Job Description

Under general supervision, is responsible for end-user hardware, software, and application support; troubleshooting, installing, upgrading, and configuring information technology systems; and performing related duties as required. Manage and upgrade information technology systems. Oversee the deployment of new workstations, phones, and printers. Assist in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all information technology products. Effectively work with technical and non-technical end-users to resolve software and hardware issues. Administer and support the latest versions of Windows on workstations and servers. Help resolve audio/visual and conference room issues (Zoom, Teams, Webex, etc.). Train users on City software and systems. Troubleshoot complex issues in person and virtually. Updates and maintains City website and hosted applications. Monitors the City network for performance and security issues.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
: Two years of experience in information technology or an associate degree in a technical field and one year experience in information technology. Valid certification in Cisco or Microsoft can be substituted for education.
QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:
Experience in providing first or second-tier information technology technical support Track record of learning new technologies and finding solutions via research. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical end-users. Considerable knowledge of server maintenance and administration. Knowledge of networking principles. General knowledge of data base principles; programming languages; and data backup and recovery principles and procedures. Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to evaluate the capabilities of hardware and software. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, conflicts, and problems. Ability to develop priorities in a dynamic environment. Ability to work independently or in a team. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, City officials, and information technology vendors. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Management reserves the right to modify the foregoing job parameters at any time.
