Position Overview:
The Help Desk Specialist provides front‑line technical support for the Cyberspace Infrastructure Planning System (CIPS) at Tinker AFB. This role handles user account administration, resolves access and permissions issues, and assists both walk‑in and remote users with system functionality questions. The specialist logs and tracks issues, defects, and enhancement requests using approved lifecycle management tools and ensures timely, accurate communication with end users. This position requires an active Secret clearance, foundational IT education, and at least one year of help desk support experience in a structured, process‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Help Desk services in support of system Production and Training. Provide system Account Administration services and support. Oversee and implement processes necessary to support user account creation, user permissions, user access issues, and other related services. Assist users who walk into the Help Desk location requesting CIPS assistance. Assist callers with issues and questions regarding CIPS functionality. Provide feedback to users regarding status of submitted or reported issue. Log, manage, and record final resolution of defects using the approved software lifecycle management tool. Log, manage, and process enhancements and change requests as directed by the Government using the approved software lifecycle management tool. Implement processes necessary to support user account creation, user role requests, user access issues, and other related services.
Required Qualifications:
Associate's or higher in Computer Science, Programming or Information Technology (or related field) At least one (1) year of experience planning, training & scheduling Help Desk support. Active SECRET clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
Windows Server, .NET framework. Familiarity with ASP, C#, Java, JavaScript, .
HTML5, .XML, .XSLT, SQL, PL-SQL.
Familiarity with JRE/JDK 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, Safe Software Feature Manipulation Engine, Adobe e-Learning Suite (inc Captivate), Tomcat, Open Geospatial Consortium, OGC Geoserver, PKI, Network Attached Storage, MS Team Foundation Server (TFS). Security+ or IAT Level 1 or IAM Level 1 certification.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the incumbent will be exposed to normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on a computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email, and face to face. This position requires the incumbent to have the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
