Job Summary We are looking for a motivated Desktop Support Specialist ready to take us to the next level! Job Description We are looking for a Desktop Support Specialist to provide comprehensive IT support to ensure system uptime, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and maintain the configuration and integrity of systems in line with company policies. This position will be Full-Time, On-Site, and a 6-12-month contract with employees expected to work onsite 5 days per week. This position features a Sunday - Thursday, day shift schedule with some potential for evening/night shifts. This role primarily supports the clients office in Beaverton, Oregon with some potential for shifts in Camas, Washington. Only work authorizations that will not require sponsorship now or in the future will be considered. What You'll Do Install, configure, and administer Windows operating systems Install and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and network switches Support automation systems in the fab and perform network, printer, and helpdesk support as needed Maintain the configuration and integrity of systems in accordance with company policies Respond promptly to fab-support events to maintain system uptime Keep systems up to date with necessary patches, firmware, and BIOS updates Install and support client applications and provide customer support Assist in configuring and supporting network switches Create and maintain documentation for established support procedures and processes Perform other duties as assigned
What You'll Need Required:
2+ years of experience in a similar support role, ideally in a high-availability environment Willingness to work in a 24 x 7 manufacturing environment, including day/night shifts Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and PC imaging/backup software Proficiency in building and configuring laptops/desktop PCs and creating standard install images Experience patching operating systems and installing/supporting network switches Knowledge of supported systems such as printers, network interfaces, Windows 7/10 OS, phones (Android/Windows), tablets, and other mobile devices General understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, performance monitoring) Capacity to manage multiple projects with limited guidance Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skillsPreferred:
Familiarity with system monitoring tools like SolarWinds or Nagios Physical Demands Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards. Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Must be able to communicate with customers/team members over the phone and in person.
