Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an IT Support Technician for a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to serving communities through innovative programs, technology, and operational excellence. This is an onsite shorter-term contract (6-12 weeks) located in Portland, Oregon.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The IT Support Technician will provide frontline technical support for end users, ensuring the smooth operation of technology systems, devices, and communications tools across the organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting, supporting diverse users, and working across desktop, mobile, networking, and collaboration technologies. The position will partner closely with internal technology staff to maintain a reliable and secure IT environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide onsite and remote technical support for hardware, software, network connectivity, mobile devices, and business applications
Configure, deploy, image, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, tablets, and peripheral equipment
Support Microsoft 365 applications, cloud-based technologies, and end-user productivity tools
Assist with telecommunications, VoIP systems, audiovisual equipment, printers, and office technology infrastructure
Maintain accurate technology inventory records and assist with equipment shipping, receiving, and asset management
Document support activities, technology changes, upgrades, and troubleshooting resolutions
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2+ years of professional IT support, desktop support, service desk, or technical support experience
Strong experience supporting Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, and cloud-based applications
Experience imaging, deploying, and configuring computers in a business environment
Proven troubleshooting experience with PC hardware, software, wireless networks, smartphones, and end-user devices
Familiarity with Apple devices, remote support tools, and basic network troubleshooting
Excellent customer service, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to support non-technical users
Desired certifications include CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cloud+, ITIL Foundations, Microsoft Fundamentals, Google IT Support, or AWS Cloud Practitioner
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This career opportunity provides a starting hourly pay of $25.00-30.00/hr DOE, plus medical, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week.
