Health Insurance•About the Role Our client, a leading organization in the healthcare and insurance industry, is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to deliver high-quality technical support across a large, enterprise environment. In this role, you will provide hands-on desktop support and play a key part in maintaining and enhancing end-user technology experiences. You will work closely with Desktop Engineering and IT Security teams to support modern workplace technologies, contribute to enterprise initiatives, and ensure systems remain secure, efficient, and aligned with business needs. Job Description The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for providing comprehensive desktop support services, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of hardware and software. This role supports both onsite and remote users and requires a strong focus on customer service, technical expertise, and adherence to service level agreements. Prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve incoming service requests to maintain business continuity and meet defined SLAs Install, configure, and support operating systems (Windows 11, macOS), Microsoft 365, and other enterprise applications Provide advanced (Level 3) support for hardware, software, virtual desktops, remote workforce setups, and macOS environments Manage mobile application delivery and endpoint configurations using Microsoft Intune (MAM) Document incidents and resolutions in ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or TeamDynamix Collaborate with Desktop Engineering and IT Security teams to deploy software, enforce policies, and support initiatives such as zero-trust architecture and endpoint protection Utilize Microsoft Intune and JAMF for device management, compliance, and application deployment across Windows and macOS environments Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate processes and improve endpoint management efficiency Support identity and access management through Entra ID (Azure AD), including authentication and conditional access policies Provide executive-level support, including AV setup and troubleshooting for meetings using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom Support network-connected printers and escalate advanced issues when necessary Maintain and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge base resources Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency Perform lifecycle management of devices, including setup, upgrades, asset tracking, and secure disposal Coordinate equipment moves, adds, changes, and decommissioning activities Provide technical support to remote offices with minimal travel (5-10%) Support walk-up IT service (Tech Hub) by assisting users with hardware, software, and connectivity issues Generate regular reports on service performance and activities Assist with pilot programs, system upgrades, and additional IT projects as needed Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field OR relevant certifications with at least 3 years of desktop support experience in a large corporate environment; alternatively, 5+ years of equivalent experience Experience with modern device management tools such as Microsoft Intune and/or JAMF Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and endpoint management Working knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD), including user authentication, conditional access, and device compliance Strong understanding of Windows 11, macOS, networking fundamentals, and enterprise tools such as Microsoft 365 and VPNs Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues in enterprise environments Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills Strong organizational and time management abilities Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical setup of IT equipment Willingness to travel minimally (5-10%) and support after-hours work when required Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft 365 Certified:
