THE ROLE
We are looking for a IT and Website Support Contractor to join our Global Programs, as well as US/Central team. CONTRACT SERVICES
In collaboration with the Program and Network Systems Manager and the IT Consultant, the IT and Website Support Specialist will provide essential operational support in two key areas: General technical support: Acting as the first point of contact for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. Website support:
Providing technical support for website functionality, tracking and working on website maintenance and updates, and collaborating with staff on website projects and needs. Document retention implementation support. 10 - 15 hours per week for one year, with the possibility of extending the contract depending on funding. WHAT YOU'LL DO IT
support Handle general IT tasks like password resets, software installation, and network troubleshooting. Assist staff via phone, email, and Slack with IT inquiries and problems. Record, track, and prioritize staff´s support requests Create and maintain user guides and document solutions for future reference. Administer Google and Microsoft accounts including user changes and troubleshooting. Administer Zoom accounts, including account changes and troubleshooting . Support Program Managers and Consultants on IT and Security projects. Website support Update the organization's website content and work on new projects and pages with the lead staff. Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot website functionality, serving as the primary point of contact for technical issues. Create and maintain user guides and procedural documentation. Document retention implementation support Support staff with the next steps in implementing GAIA's policy and with data hygiene tools. WHO YOU ARE
Specifically, this contractor will bring: Familiarity with supporting Google, Microsoft, and Cryptpad suites, Slack, password managers, and VPNs. Willing to learn from the IT consultant about operating systems, networks, and IT security measures to help run these systems. Strong understanding of the WordPress ecosystem, including Gutenberg, page builders, and common plugins. Understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic PHP to modify website code. Ability to research new platforms and support staff adoption. Ability to keep confidentiality and discretion on sensitive issues and projects. Skills in working with coworkers located in multiple countries and regions. Able to bring patience and kindness in supporting staff with a wide range of technology savviness, and the ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical users. Ability to problem-solve, take initiative, and maintain efficiency in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment. Ability to juggle multiple tasks and to communicate effectively when additional support is needed Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively. COMPENSATION, LOCATION, AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is fully remote, with a preference for candidates based in the United States. The hourly rate for candidates in the United States for this position is $30/hr to $35/hr. If the candidate is located outside the United States, this position will include a contract amount commensurate with the country of residence would be negotiated. Work is performed both independently and collaboratively.
