Job Description The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including Information Technology project delivery, maintenance and support. This position is within DTMB Agency Services supporting the Michigan Department of Education. We're seeking someone who values public service and is passionate about IT application development. In this role, you'll help us meet the needs of our citizens while driving innovative solutions. Strong communication skills are essential. You should be able to deliver clear oral and written reports, create compelling presentations, and produce concise documentation. We're looking for a team player who can build effective relationships with clients and colleagues, approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset, and deliver timely, practical solutions. This position functions as a Business Analyst Specialist, within a team of technology professionals. This position works on the requirements, design, testing, and Agile sprint tasks that support technology projects for the Michigan Department of Education (MDE). This position supports MDE's Secure Site application and associated systems. This position is responsible for Business Analyst tasks which focus on achieving the goals and mission of the agency. Knowledge of development platform(s) is needed as listed within the knowledge skills and abilities section of the position description in the posting. : This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500. Up to $1,250 to be paid upon new hire and the remainder to be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). This does not apply to current state employees. The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out-of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week. Required Education and Experience Education and Experienc e Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 21 semester (32 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics. Experience Information Technology Specialist 14 Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12. Alternate Education and Experience An associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, mathematics or equivalent; and at least two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12. OR At least an educational level typically acquired through the completion of high school and at least three years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.
