networking Escalation handling Cloud services Help desk Full Job Description Job Summary We are a rapidly growing technology consulting company looking for skilled IT professionals for on-call, project-based, and client support work in and around San Francisco. This role is ideal for experienced technical professionals who are comfortable working independently on common IT issues, supporting client environments, and assisting with larger projects under the direction of a senior consultant or project lead. This is primarily 1099 work, with potential future W2 opportunities for consultants who demonstrate consistency, reliability, and strong client service. We do not operate from a traditional office. You set your availability, and we assign work based on your skill set, schedule, and performance. There are no guaranteed hours, but there is ongoing opportunity for consultants who take initiative and are willing to grow with the company. We also offer internal projects at lower internal rates, typically around $40/hr, in addition to client-facing work at the posted rates. As you become more involved, there is potential to take on more advanced work, assist with project management, build new technical skills, and grow into a senior consultant role.
Note:
Candidates must be within a 30-45 minute drive of San Francisco. Applicants outside this range will not be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who are currently employed and looking for part-time or supplemental work. Essential Duties Resolve Level 1-2 IT support requests onsite and remotely Assist with Level 3 issues under senior guidance Support PC and Mac troubleshooting, setup, and maintenance Assist with cloud service portals, email systems, DNS, and account administration Help install, configure, and troubleshoot business networks Assist with Wi-Fi, firewall, switch, and endpoint troubleshooting Support multi-day IT projects as part of a larger team Communicate with clients professionally by phone, email, and onsite Document work performed, issues found, and next steps Coordinate with vendors when assigned Escalate complex issues appropriately Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills Ability to work independently on standard IT support tasks Ability to work as part of a small team under the direction of a lead or senior consultant Strong troubleshooting skills across common desktop, network, email, and cloud issues Experience with PC/Mac support, hardware diagnostics, email/DNS support, basic networking, and client-facing support Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to follow instructions, document work clearly, and escalate when needed Ability to learn new software, tools, and processes quickly Professional attitude when working with clients and team members Preferred Skills 3-7+ years of hands-on IT support, network support, or technical consulting experience IT, networking, or cloud certifications Experience with business networks, Wi-Fi systems, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, endpoint security, and basic firewall administration Availability for flexible hours, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed Interest in growing into a senior technical or project leadership role
