IT Field Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and proactive IT Field Technician to join our technology support team. In this role, you will be the frontline expert responsible for delivering comprehensive technical support and troubleshooting services directly at client sites. Your expertise will ensure seamless operation of computer hardware, software, and network systems, empowering users to work efficiently and securely. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with diverse IT infrastructure components, including operating systems, networking equipment, and security solutions, while providing exceptional customer service in fast-paced environments. Duties Provide on-site technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across various client locations. Troubleshoot and resolve software problems related to operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux. Manage computer hardware including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals to ensure optimal performance. Configure and maintain network components like LANs (Local Area Networks), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), firewalls, DNS (Domain Name System), TCP/IP protocols, and network switches such as Meraki devices. Support IT infrastructure by assisting with server management tasks involving Microsoft Windows Server environments and Active Directory administration. Utilize tools like SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), GPO (Group Policy Objects), ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy for ticketing, asset management, and issue tracking. Conduct regular system analysis to identify potential issues before they impact users; escalate complex problems to higher-level support teams when necessary. Assist in deploying updates, patches, and security configurations to safeguard client networks against threats. Communicate clearly with clients to explain technical issues in understandable terms while maintaining a high level of customer service. Qualifications Proven experience providing technical support in a field or help desk environment with strong troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of computer networking concepts including

TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN

architecture, VPN setup, firewall configuration, and network administration. Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows (including Microsoft Windows Server), macOS, and Linux distributions. Hands-on experience managing computer hardware components and peripherals; ability to diagnose hardware failures quickly. Proficiency with remote management tools like SCCM and familiarity with GPO for policy enforcement across Windows environments. Understanding of security protocols including firewall management and VPN configurations to protect sensitive data. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service while explaining technical issues clearly. Ability to work independently in diverse environments while managing multiple priorities effectively. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or Cisco CCNA are preferred but not mandatory.
