What this actually looks like:

Monday morning you're troubleshooting an AVD issue for an attorney. After lunch you're aligning a new client to our M365, Intune, and Entra security baseline. End of day someone has a printer problem and you handle it (we all hate printers). Tuesday you're onsite deploying switches and access points, answering user questions about the new SharePoint site, and logging tickets for follow-up work.

You need to already understand:

Security principles, risk, and how to apply them across different business environments Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Autopilot, Azure, with real depth, not surface familiarity Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, mail flow and how to troubleshoot from first principles Firewalls, VLANs, switching, solid networking fundamentals Server environments, application troubleshooting, printing (yes, printing) Least privilege access, delegated access, identity concepts, understanding why , not just where to click in the portal How to scope a problem, plan the work, and execute the work and pivot when needed How to be a part of/run projects AND a helpdesk queue in the same week without dropping either This role is probably not for you if: You've been deep in one role or one stack and haven't had to context-switch constantly You need someone to assign your priorities every morning Accurate time records feel beneath you, knowing who did what, when, and why is how we stay accountable and protect our clients You're expecting to grow into client-facing work, you need to already be comfortable in a room with a business owner or senior partner You think remote means out of sight, out of mind; accountabiltiy stays the same regardless of work location.

This is a small business, not a tech startup. Some days you're deep in an Azure environment. Some days you're crawling under a desk. No work is beneath anyone here. Field work is part of the job. Client site visits aren't an exception they're the expectation. The schedule is driven by what clients need, not a fixed calendar. You own your time management. We work.
