The incumbent will be responsible for assisting users with their workstation hardware, operating system and software including email, network stored files, and printing. Duties will include installing, updating and troubleshooting desktop hardware and software for all operating systems in use at the school. This position will be responsible for the security of the workstations and other devices connected to the network including security updates and other routine maintenance. This position will maintain a broad range of applications. Salary & Compensation UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications Working knowledge of wireless networking protocols for desktops, mobile devices and other peripherals. (Required) Working knowledge of projectors and related audiovisual devices including wireless media streamers. (Required) Working knowledge of email servers, files servers, print servers. (Required) Working knowledge of protocols such as
SNMP, SMTP, IMAP, POP.
(Required) Working knowledge of writing basic computer scripts. (Required) Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing to clients of varying technical backgrounds (Required) Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise wide, network based backup software. (Required) Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise wide patch management software to report and remediate OS and application security vulnerabilities. (Required) Expert knowledge of enterprise level workstation imaging techniques and tools used to deploy workstations in a touchless, remote method. (Required) Demonstrated ability in diagnosing and remedying workstation problems and failures promptly and effectively. (Required) Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Mac operating systems including advanced imaging and deployment techniques (Required) Expert knowledge and expertise in troubleshooting and assisting with Microsoft Office and other applications for Windows and Mac OS. (Required) Basic understanding of network technologies and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, file and print services. (Required) Detailed knowledge of and experience with backup/recovery, patch management, and anti-virus software. (Required) Detailed knowledge of enterprise level deployment toolkits for remote installation of operating systems and software for both Windows and Mac OS (Required) Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues, find appropriate solutions, and follow through to completion.
