Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, self-motivated individual to join our growing team as an IT Support Specialist. This is not an entry level role, and the ideal candidate will need the drive to expand their technical and operational responsibilities as our company continues to grow. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day IT needs across the organization, including laptop and workstation setup, user access management, troubleshooting, and ensuring systems remain secure and reliable. You will also help maintain IT documentation, inventory, and support processes to reduce downtime and keep our team moving. Key Responsibilities
- Configure, deploy, and maintain laptops and desktop workstations for new and existing staff.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to employees (hardware, software, printers, and basic network issues).
- Troubleshoot system issues and implement timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Maintain user accounts, email setup, access permissions, and security controls (Microsoft 365).
- Support onboarding and offboarding from a technical standpoint (equipment, access, security steps).
- Track and manage IT equipment inventory, assignments, replacements, and returns.
- Ensure regular software updates, antivirus protections, MFA, and other security measures are in place.
- Coordinate with third-party IT vendors as needed, and follow issues through to resolution.
- Document recurring issues and resolutions, and help improve internal IT processes over time.
- Willingness to travel as needed for company support, equipment setup, or vendor coordination. Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or a similar role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, able to explain tech in plain English.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality with personal and business information.
- Positive, solutions-oriented attitude and comfort in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Proficiency supporting Windows and Mac environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint basics).
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts and remote support tools. Candidates must currently reside within daily commuting distance of Maryland Heights, MO 63146. Only local candidates will be considered. Nice to Have
- Experience supporting a HIPAA-compliant or regulated environment.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and data protection protocols.
