3130 William Pitt Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15238 (Hybrid Eligible) About Busy Beaver Technology Team At Busy Beaver Building Centers, technology plays a critical role in supporting our stores, associates, and customers across our growing retail footprint. We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and customer-focused IT Systems Specialist to join our Technology team. This is not a contract, entry-level, or internship position. We are seeking someone who can independently troubleshoot issues, support retail operations, and contribute to improving the overall technology experience across the company. This role serves as the first line of technology support for users across the organization and offers the opportunity to grow into a larger role within the Technology team. Position Summary The IT Systems Specialist will provide hands-on technical support for stores, headquarters, and end users across the organization. This hybrid position combines remote support with onsite work at store and office locations throughout our operating area. This role also assists with the administration and support of customer-facing technology platforms including our e-commerce and rewards systems. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, AI proficient, organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment where technology directly impacts daily business operations. The successful candidate must be capable of balancing day-to-day support responsibilities while contributing to long-term technology improvements and operational initiatives. Responsibilities Provide remote and onsite technical support for stores and headquarters users Monitor and respond to help desk tickets in a timely manner Document issues, resolutions, and technical procedures Travel to store locations as needed for troubleshooting, installations, upgrades, and project work Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and peripherals Support retail technology including POS systems, payment devices, barcode scanners, inventory handhelds, label printers, office printers, and related store infrastructure Assist with Microsoft 365 administration and user account management Configure and deploy new hardware and software Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues including VPN access, wireless networking, cabling, and basic electrical or power-related technology issues Support VoIP phone systems, store communication equipment, paging systems, cordless phones, and in-store audio/music systems Assist with administration and support of customer-facing platforms including e-commerce and rewards systems Create and maintain scripts, reports, and automation processes to improve operational efficiency Assist with store openings, remodels, technology rollouts, and infrastructure upgrades Work with vendors and third-party support providers when needed Be available for after-hours and weekend support in mission-critical situations, including account unlocks, password resets, and business continuity support Qualifications Required 3+ years of IT support experience in a business environment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills AI proficiency and the ability to effectively use modern AI tools to improve productivity and support operations Experience supporting Windows PCs and Microsoft 365 Scripting and/or report writing experience required Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, switching, VPNs) Experience with hardware deployment and device configuration Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple priorities independently Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation Preferred Retail or multi-location support experience Experience with: Microsoft Entra ID / Active Directory Cisco Meraki VoIP systems Point-of-sale systems Mobile device management PowerShell scripting SQL or reporting platforms E-commerce or customer loyalty/rewards systems Associate or bachelor's degree in IT-related field Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications Work Environment & Travel Hybrid position with a combination of remote work, corporate office work, and onsite store support Travel to store locations throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia is required Personal vehicle required; company vehicle is not provided Mileage reimbursement provided for approved business travel What Success Looks Like Responds quickly and professionally to support requests Builds strong relationships with store and office teams Takes ownership of issues through resolution Identifies opportunities to improve processes and reduce recurring problems Uses technology and AI tools effectively to improve support efficiency and operational outcomes Helps maintain reliable technology operations across the company Why Join Busy Beaver?
