Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
This role is for an IT Training Specialist to act as an educator supporting newly implemented technology and applications. Responsibilities include end-user training, new employee orientation, post-implementation optimization and stabilization training, remediation training, and instructional design and development across various educational settings such as computer labs, eLearning, webinars, and traditional classrooms. The specialist will also manage small project initiatives and investigate intermittent technical problems. Key Responsibilities
Present information using a variety of instructional techniques and formats including role-playing, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures.
Schedule classes based on the availability of classrooms, equipment, and instructors.
Create "self-paced" learning avenues using video, audio, and other computer-based learning tools.
Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and guides, and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
Develop specific classroom-style training programs for new applications and hardware.
Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities and program effectiveness.
Evaluate training materials prepared by departmental instructors, including outlines, text, and handouts.
Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, and/or consultation with managers or end-users.
Design, plan, organize, and direct orientation and training for employees on Information Technology applications.
Stay current with technology developments in the area of expertise by reading current journals, books, and magazine articles. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of proven IT virtual and in-person training experience in a healthcare setting.
Competency in both Ambulatory and Inpatient Cerner clinical bundle of applications.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office, and Visio.
Ability to understand business and clinical application workflows.
Hands-on experience developing a range of training materials, including participant guides, job aids, quick reference guides, and short video tutorials.
Experience utilizing SnagIt.
Proven track record of excellence and commitment as a professional.
Hybrid position: approximately 70% onsite, 30% remote.
Local candidates only. Preferred Qualifications
Experience training business applications such as ServiceNow, Kronos, Lawson, etc.
Experience writing eLearning scripts.
Experience working in a large and dynamic project environment.
