Part-Time Position Overview Florida University of Business and Technology (FUBT) is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Library Assistant to support the daily operations of the University's library services. This position plays a vital role in assisting students, faculty, and staff with access to academic resources, library systems, research materials, and digital information services. The ideal candidate is organized, technology-savvy, customer-service oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote or hybrid environment while maintaining excellent communication and support for the university community. Key Responsibilities Assist students, faculty, and staff in accessing library resources, databases, e-books, journals, and research materials. Respond to library inquiries via email, phone, chat, and virtual support platforms. Maintain and update library records, catalogs, databases, and digital collections. Process and organize library materials, including electronic resources and academic publications. Support circulation services, borrowing records, and resource requests. Assist with cataloging, indexing, and maintaining library collections. Provide basic research assistance and guidance on library tools and academic databases. Help develop library guides, tutorials, and instructional materials. Monitor and maintain accurate library statistics and usage reports. Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to support teaching and learning initiatives. Assist with special projects, accreditation documentation, and library compliance requirements. Participate in virtual and on-campus meetings as needed. QualificationsRequired Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution. Minimum 1 year of experience in a library, academic support, administrative, customer service, or related environment. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Ability to provide professional customer service to students, faculty, and staff. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. Previous experience in an academic, college, or university library. Familiarity with library management systems, digital repositories, and online research databases. Experience supporting remote learners and online education environments. Knowledge of accreditation standards and higher education compliance requirements.
