Operations Center Technician ELM MicroGrid The Colony, TX Job Details Full-time $60,000 - $80,000 a year 1 hour ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Industrial controls Renewable energy Incident response Attention to detail Cybersecurity Full Job Description Job Summary The Operations Center Technician - Energy Systems is responsible for monitoring and supporting the performance, reliability, and connectivity of ELM Microgrid's deployed energy systems, including battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids, SCADA platforms, and related operational technologies. This position serves as a central coordination point between engineering, field service, operations, and external partners to support real-time system monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, and operational continuity across active sites. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced operations environment, responding to system alarms and events, troubleshooting technical issues, and coordinating resolution efforts across multiple teams. This is an onsite position and remote work is not available. Responsibilities Monitor operational systems, SCADA platforms, site communications, and connected energy infrastructure to ensure system uptime and performance Respond to system alarms, outages, and operational events by troubleshooting, coordinating response efforts, and escalating issues as needed Support real-time operations for battery energy storage systems and microgrid environments across multiple sites Coordinate with engineering, field service, and operations teams to troubleshoot and restore system functionality Monitor system health, alarms, logs, and performance metrics to proactively identify risks or recurring issues Initiate, document, and manage incident tickets through resolution Support planned maintenance activities, software updates, and scheduled operational work Maintain accurate documentation related to incidents, troubleshooting activities, and operational procedures Support development and continuous improvement of operational procedures, SOPs, and escalation workflows Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and operational security standards related to critical infrastructure Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, operational efficiency, and response processes Experience 2+ years of experience in operations, monitoring, technical support, industrial systems, SCADA environments, NOC environments, or similar technical roles preferred Experience working with operational technologies, monitoring platforms, or industrial control systems is preferred Familiarity with networking and communication concepts such as TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, or site connectivity troubleshooting Experience supporting SCADA, power systems, renewable energy systems, BESS, or industrial control systems is a plus Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Ability to analyze system alarms, logs, and performance data Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software systems quickly Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize and respond effectively in a fast-paced operational environment Strong sense of accountability, ownership, and urgency Ability to work onsite and support multiple shifts as needed Remote work is not available for this position
