Retail Store Ops Support Specialist Location:
Chesapeake, VA preferred. Remote is also fine.
Key responsibilities:
Install, configure, and support Win DSS (Distributed Store Solution) environments including POS terminals, back-office servers, and peripherals Maintain and troubleshoot custom retail applications built on the Clarion development platform, including data file management and report generation Provide L2 support to store associates and managers, diagnosing and resolving issues with POS, inventory, and reporting systems Manage Windows Server environments, user accounts, network connectivity, and peripheral devices (receipt printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers) across store locations Perform routine database maintenance, data integrity checks, and end-of-day processing within DSS and Clarion-based systems Document technical procedures, escalate unresolved issues to vendors or senior IT staff, and maintain accurate asset and configuration records Technical skills: 5+ years supporting Win DSS retail environments Hands-on experience with Clarion applications Proficiency with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and VLANs PostgreSQL, SQL or TopSpeed/CTFILE data file knowledge a plus Employers have access to artificial intelligence language tools ("AI") that help generate and enhance job descriptions and AI may have been used to create this description.
