Job Description

Headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Cayman Chemical Company supplies scientists worldwide with the resources necessary for advancing human and animal health. We offer a vast product catalog that is constantly growing to meet the needs of our clients. Additionally, we provide service programs that include comprehensive solutions to drive clients' projects to completion. Our mission is to make research possible. That starts by employing a talented and highly qualified group of experts that develop the tools to support research scientists. Currently, we are looking to add an IT Scientific Support Technician to the team:
Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversee all IT responsibilities for scientific/analytical software, lab instrument control suites, and lab instrument hardware. Maintain the company's backup procedures for lab instruments and data. Responsible for support, resolving or escalating incidents for on-site and remote users. Provide end-user support for scientific systems, computers, printers, phone system, software, and hardware. Perform software installation and maintenance. Responsible for conference room equipment setup, operation, and maintenance. Perform IT hardware asset lifecycle duties (deployment, auditing, disposal). Develop and maintain documented standard operating procedures for IT systems.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
Experience:
2+ years. Experience with analytical instrumentation and software such as Agilent OpenLab, Thermo Fisher Chromeleon, Waters Empower, etc. Hands-on experience with HPLC, GC/GC-MS, or
LC/LC-MS
instruments as end-user or technical support. Strong background in analytical chemistry in academic or industrial environment preferred. Availability to work on-site in Ann Arbor during normal business hours and provide occasional off-hours support.
