US- IT Data Engineer (Mid) Data Engineer / Steward / Analyst Chesterfield, MO Contract Apr 6, 2026 ob Summary A global life sciences organization is hiring a Full Stack Mid Developer / Engineer to support its Engineering and Data Science, Field Automation Engineering Team. This hybrid role requires local candidates to work onsite three days per week and focuses on building and enhancing cloud-based, geospatial, and highly available software systems that power field automation technologies. The position involves hands-on ownership of architecture, design, and development of connected platforms that interface with users, data assets, analytics models, and electromechanical equipment to enable next-generation data and human connectivity across R D field operations. Responsibilities Work in an agile development environment to build and support cloud-based applications. Collaborate with development leads and stakeholders to manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. Interact directly with business customers to gather requirements and translate them into application features. Conduct functional and non-functional testing. Troubleshoot and debug applications. Deploy applications across environments in collaboration with development, product management, and delivery teams. Champion code quality, including unit and integration testing. Evaluate and refactor existing applications; update and add new features as needed. Develop technical documentation to accurately represent application design and code. Adhere to established and modern data security practices. Participate in the evaluation and selection of new technologies. Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience developing REST APIs using modern programming languages or technologies such as TypeScript or JavaScript. 4+ years of experience developing single-page or multi-page web-based user interfaces. 2+ years of experience working with relational and/or NoSQL database technologies and abstraction tools. 2+ years of experience developing within the AWS ecosystem, including practical experience with Lambda, ECS, EC2, S3, IAM, and RDS. Practical experience architecting and designing cloud software systems. Practical knowledge of software development best practices. Demonstrated technical leadership. Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Successful completion of online and in-person technical screenings.
Preferred:
Experience developing IoT technologies or distributed systems that generate large volumes of data. Experience with asynchronous, event-driven technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
