Job Description
Hampton County Government - Hampton, SC Hampton County is seeking a skilled IT Specialist to oversee and support the County's technology systems and operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing IT infrastructure, supporting users, and ensuring secure and efficient technology services across all departments. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily IT operations, systems, and support services Provide technical support for hardware, software, networks, and servers Manage IT projects, vendors, and work order systems Ensure cybersecurity, data protection, and system integrity Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and strategic plans Assist with IT budgeting and provide guidance to departments Train staff and troubleshoot technical issues Provide emergency IT support during critical events Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience with network systems, servers, and desktop support Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Government or public sector experience IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.) Benefits Benefits include health insurance and retirement through South Carolina Public Employee Benefit Authority (PEBA) How to Apply Submit your application and resume to: HR@hamptoncountysc.org Hampton County Government is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
