Because of this continued growth, Holston is seeking an individual to join our IT department as a Helpdesk Technician. This position will report to the Director of Information Technology and is responsible for the repair, support, deployment and maintenance of computing resources to support the business function. Overview
- Full Time / day shift - regular business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
- Position is located at Knoxville TN location, 545 West Baxter Avenue.
- Install / repair / maintain computers, laptops, tablets, IP telephones, cellular devices, structured cabling, access control systems, email systems, video security and other computing resources available to the user base.
- Troubleshoot and resolve both hardware and software issues.

- Occasional regional travel required (may be overnight).
- Must have a valid driver's license.

- Knowledge of MS Windows (current versions), MS Office (current versions).
- Knowledge of structured cabling and wiring systems, including VOIP phone.
- Ability to provide clear and effective communication - in both oral and written formats.
- Ability to work with non-technical users, either face to face or remotely to resolve problems.
- Ability to effectively function both individually and as part of a team.
- Mac iOS experience a plus.
- Windows Server experience a plus.
- Microsoft Azure experience a plus.
- Experience with AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, CoPilot, Gemini, etc.) a plus Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring optimal system function by identifying problems and implementing solutions.
- Addresses end user issues via remote client or in person.
- Repair / install / upgrade end user computers.
- Repair / install / upgrade printers.
- Provide support for IP and cellular telephones.
- Provide both hardware and software support.
- Prepare reference and training materials for end users.
- Conduct end user training.
- Contribute to team success by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Performs additional duties and assignments as directed.
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to pull, route and secure data and fiber optic cables through conduit, duct work Education and/or Experience Candidates with any combination of education or experience may qualify:
- Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field (current students encouraged to apply)
- A+ or similar certification(s)
