Direct Hire, Full Time Job Title:
IT Engineer About 9 Mothers The modern battlefield has changed. Cheap, autonomous suicide drones have turned the tactical advantage upside down, and the world is looking for a solution. At 9 Mothers, we aren't just "innovating"—we are building the shield. Backed by top-tier investors, we develop AI powered machines designed to intercept and neutralize Group 1/sUAS threats in real-time. Our flagship product is a low-power, counter-drone system built for the edge—on vehicles, at bases, or in a soldier's pack. Why 9 Mothers? While others build for "awareness" or "long-term research," we build for the immediate survival of those in harm's way. We are a team of hackers, engineers, and mission-driven builders who value field-ready capability over polished slide decks. If you want to see your code or hardware in the field next month—not next year—this is your playground. Position Summary 9 Mothers is hiring an IT Systems Administrator to own internal IT and endpoint operations for a growing defense engineering team. You run the fleet, the identity stack, and the tooling that keeps DevOps, mechanical, and software engineers productive — and you keep all of it inside our compliance boundary. This is a broad-scope IC role with shifting priorities; you fix what's most broken that week. Essential Duties Automating traditional sysadmin duties with AI based workflows. Administer the Microsoft 365 GCC High / Entra ID tenant: identity, licensing, groups, and access. Run onboarding/offboarding end to end — accounts, hardware, access provisioning, and deprovisioning. Provision, image, and manage Windows and macOS endpoints Manage companywide tools (e.g. maintain and assigning licenses etc.) Troubleshooting software, hardware, and networking issues. Triage and resolve software, hardware, and network issues across the team. Maintain office network infrastructure (UniFi stack, switching, Wi-Fi, VLAN segmentation). Maintain IT and operational documentation, runbooks, and asset records. Requirements You have a claude code subscription. You never let the silly engineers call you a blocker 3+ years administering Windows/macOS endpoints and a cloud identity platform (Microsoft 365 / Entra ID strongly preferred). Hands-on experience with MDM (Intune, Jamf, or equivalent) and
SSO/SCIM
provisioning. Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and VPN. Comfort operating independently with broad scope and limited oversight. Nice to Have Experience in a
CMMC, NIST
800-171, or another regulated/compliance-bound environment. Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms (Orin, JetPack). Active security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one. Comfortable with Debian based distros, Yocto Project, device tree, and kernel driver experience.
