Provides support in the installation of application software, upgrades, and maintenance of PCs for Hill College. Provides user support and training, upgrades, and maintenance of network operations for Hill College.

Minimum Required Education:

Associate's degree or a combination of experience and education that yields the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Minimum Required Experience:

Prefer:

Two to four years in tech support.

Core Duties and Required Knowledge:

Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs computer hardware and software in a timely manner. Cleans computer equipment and performs general maintenance on equipment to ensure that it is in optimal condition. Evaluates and disposes of older hardware and software as needed. Monitors network performance and alerts management of an unstable network. Maintains inventory, passwords, and computer-related work orders. Installs, configures, and upgrades operating systems on faculty and staff computers. Performs computer-related training. Responds to service calls and completes work orders from the helpdesk. Working knowledge of computer hardware and software. Working knowledge of computer networks. Working knowledge of computer security systems and procedures. Working knowledge of current technology. Ability to repair and maintain computers and computer-related machines and equipment. Demonstrated customer service skills. Demonstrated organizational skills. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task with minimal supervision. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to be detail-oriented. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Ability to develop and execute plans. Ability to operate an IBM-compatible computer and other standard office equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Sets up and dismantles hardware during registration. Security-sensitive position.

Physical Requirements:

Medium work; exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for light work.
